Short one. I asked Claude to find devops and fullstack portfolio examples on refero.design, a curated design showcase site, to use as reference for my own developer portfolio.
A category with nothing in it
The Chrome extension wasn't connected, so Claude went through the site's public JSON API instead of a browser. Early on that looked promising. Refero has "Portfolio" and "Agency & Studio" categories alongside "Development Tools", which seemed like the right places to search. A sweep agent went through them and came back with nothing: both categories exist in refero's taxonomy with zero sites tagged. The whole index is 427 curated sites, and every one is a company or product marketing page, mostly SaaS tools, dev tools, consumer apps and marketplaces. Searches for devops, SRE, fullstack, backend engineer, homelab and developer portfolio all turned up companies, GitHub and Vercel among them, and never an individual's site. The closest match was a coding-agent product calling itself "The AI Fullstack Engineer", which is a product page.
Claude said the site was the wrong place to look and suggested GitHub topic searches, the awesome-portfolio-websites and developer-portfolios repos, Awwwards' personal-site category, and Show HN portfolio threads. I haven't gone through any of those yet.
